Doha Detox | Smoothie of the Week Recipe

As the weather is getting cooler, we thought we’d give you a handy recipe to sip on, during those breezy evenings. Becoming healthy is something a lot of us are getting more conscious and smoothies are a fast, fun, and effective way to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

So what’s in this week’s smoothie? Some cooling ingredients such as cucumber and kiwi that are highly beneficial to the upkeep of your cells. Cucumber is a tropical plant from the same family as watermelon. The benefits of cucumber are understated; its thirst-quenching and cooling properties are refreshing. It even acts as an anti-oxidant when taken together with fried and barbecued foods. When blended together with kiwi, you end up with a smoothie that is high in vitamin C, great for building healthy bones and joints, and super great for promoting hair growth, due to the silicon and sulfur content present in cucumbers.

Add an apple and banana for extra fibre content to keep you fuller for longer, which can help in cutting down on the amount of junk-food snacking during the day.

Apples are very common but hold beneficial properties for the body, such as being anti inflammatory, high in anti oxidants, which helps the immune system when transitioning to a cooler weather.
